Intro to Using the Optimist Institute

This video will provide you with an introduction to the Optimist International Optimist Institute how to navigate it and some of the content. There is content in the Optimist Institute for all Optimist Members and is expanding rapidly.

Optimist International has redesigned the former Learning Management System as the Optimist Institute to provide training for all Optimists. It is free for all members.

Here is more information about how to register for the LMS system if you are an Optimist President,  Secretary-Treasurer, or CCOF Rep.  If you have had an account in the past you will need to renew each year from October 1st.

Hello Optimists!  The wait is over. The courses for 2023-2024 Club President, Club Secretary/Treasurer, and Club CFR are now open! In order to meet all the requirements to become and Honor Club (and learn some valuable information) please complete the 2023-2024 club officer training prior to March 31. Below are some commonly asked questions that one may have about LMS. If you have any other questions, comments, or concerns about the LMS that is not mentioned below, please email institute@optimist.org. Please allow 24-48 hours for a response. If an email is sent over the weekend, expect a response on Monday.

FAQs 

Question: I have completed all of my training but my name has not shown up on the report. What happened?

Answer: Depending on when you completed it and when we did the report last, you will be recorded on the next report run. However, if it has been more than 2 months since you have completed your training, please send us an email. Sometimes our reports don’t always pick up names especially after the new calendar year. Please send us an email and we will check on that.

Question: I completed all of the courses but my progress bar is not at 100%. Can you help?
Answer: We understand how frustrating this situation can be. Some solutions making sure all questions (fill-in-the-blank, True/False, etc.) are answered and submitted. Another solution is making sure the video is watched to its full length. Clicking to the next lesson even three seconds before it ends won’t record on the LMS.

Question: I am having trouble logging in, who do I contact?

Answer: If you are having trouble logging in, it is probably because your username or password is incorrect. Please keep in mind that you need to make these something you can remember. If you cannot remember them, contact institute@optimist.org for assistance.
